Collegiate Church

The highest point of the hill where the Collegiate Church stands today must have been occupied already in Roman times by a temple, presumably not a particularly large one, dedicated to Diana Liciniana, which was replaced from the 4th-5th century by a Christian oratory dedicated to St Michael Archangel, which was later, around the 11th century, surrounded by a castle.
